Privacy

What we collect, and why.

This site sets no cookies and shows no ads. We only hold what you type into one of its three forms. Here is exactly what that is.

Who we are

Finance for Quantum is operated by CFO Fractal. In this policy, we means CFO Fractal and you means anyone using investors.financeforquantum.com. The person responsible for privacy is Gaetan Brillaud, reachable at gaetan@cfofractal.ca.

What the forms collect

Nothing is collected while you browse. Data reaches us only when you send one of these forms.

Early access
Your work email (required) and your fund (optional). Purpose: tell you when the investor workspace opens. We do not use this email for anything else.
Weekly memo
Your work email (required), your fund (optional) and your consent: the box is unticked by default and must be ticked. We record the exact wording you agreed to, its version and the date and time. The wording is: I agree to receive This Week in Quantum Exits, the weekly memo from Finance for Quantum, by email. I can unsubscribe at any time. Purpose: send you the memo. We first send one email asking you to confirm, and we record the date and time of your confirmation; nobody gets the memo without confirming.
Contact
Your name, your work email and your message (required), your fund (optional). Purpose: reply to you.
With every form
The page you sent it from, the button you used to open it and the date and time. Two anti-spam checks run as well: a hidden field that people never fill, and the time the form was open. Neither is stored.
Your IP address
Used for a few minutes, in memory, to limit how many forms one connection can send. It is never written to our database. Our host also keeps standard request logs, see below.

Where it is stored

Form submissions are stored in our database on Airtable, in one table for investor contacts. The site and its form handler are hosted by Netlify, which keeps request logs, including IP addresses, for a short period to run and protect the service. Both companies are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there.

Web fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads.

The memo and its confirmation email are sent with Resend, an email delivery service based in the United States. It receives your email address and the content of each email, and tells us when an email bounces or is marked as spam, so we stop writing to that address.

Cookies and measurement

No cookies. The site sets none and stores nothing in your browser.

No audience measurement. This site runs no analytics script.

How long we keep it

Early access
Until the workspace opens and we have written to you, then 12 months. After that we delete it, unless you have become a user.
Weekly memo
As long as you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe we keep your email and the record of your consent and of its withdrawal, so we never write to you again by mistake. On request we delete that history and keep only your address, flagged do-not-contact.
Contact
24 months after our last exchange, then deleted.

What we never do

We do not sell, rent or share your data with the funds in the directory or with anyone else. We do not add you to the memo unless you ticked its box.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, get a copy of it, or withdraw your consent to the memo at any time. Every issue of the memo will carry an unsubscribe link, and an email to us works too. Write to gaetan@cfofractal.ca with "Privacy" in the subject. We confirm within 30 days. No fee.

CFO Fractal is based in Québec, Canada, and follows Québec's Law 25 and the federal PIPEDA. You can complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are in the European Union, you can also contact your national data protection authority.

Changes

When a form or a data practice changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
